There’s one word that comes to my mind when I think of Airbnb photos. Inviting. We really want the space to be inviting in-person, and it’s just as important to make the photos look inviting as well.

Although we highly recommend hiring a professional to capture the beauty of your space, we understand that it’s not always in the cards. If you’re looking to give your Airbnb profile a lift on your own, try these tips to get started:

• Showcase the space. Literally! Take photos that display the open area, even if your space isn’t that large. Using a wide angle lens can be useful for this.
• Lighten up! Seeing a space filled with beautiful colors, and bright natural light is a game-changer. If you’re unable to capture the lighting perfectly with your camera/phone, try editing the photo afterwards.
• Get creative. Photos aren’t limited to the whole room. Find unique objects that capture your space, and photograph them!
